Being Prepared for Anything
7/9/2018 (Permalink)
Most storm, fire, and water damage happens unexpectedly and emergencies can catch residents unprepared. You’re smart to have an emergency supply bag or container already stocked with the basics you need should an emergency happen. When the New Yorker published an article in 2015 called ‘The Really Big One” many people began re-evaluating their personal preparedness. SERVPRO is a national partner of the American Red Cross, an organization that advises all of us to have an emergency supply kit or evacuation pack that includes the following:
Emergency survival kit
- Store a kit at home, at work and at each child’s school or daycare facility.
- Dry or canned food and drinking water for each person
- Can opener
- First aid supplies and first aid book
- Copies of important documents such as birth certificates, licenses, and insurance policies
- "Special needs" items for family members such as infant formula, eyeglasses and medications
- A change of clothing
- Sleeping bag or blanket
- Battery powered radio or television
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- Whistle
- Waterproof matches
- Toys, books, puzzles, games
- Extra house keys and car keys
- List of contact names and phone numbers
- Food, water and supplies for pets
Additional items you can store at home for use during an emergency
If you have any other questions or concerns, please do no hesitate to call SERVPRO of Fresno Northwest at (559) 261-9765.

African Adventure is a 13-acre, multiphase expansion which features new animal species in spectacular naturalistic exhibits, as well as many multi-species, that together will emulate the African plains and savannas. African Adventure is a a brand new, state-of-the-art home for a pride of lions, a family herd of African elephants, cheetahs, white rhinos, a brand new giraffe feeding station with 360 degree views of the savanna, and a dine-in restaurant called the Kopje Lodge!

Fresno Chamber Ambassador team for Wak MS
SERVPRO of Fresno Northwest is a proud member of the Fresno Chamber of Commerce. SMR Dana Irola is also a ambassador for The Chamber which allows her to participate in many Community events. This photo is from the Walk MS she participated in a couple of weeks ago.
In multiple sclerosis (MS), damage to the myelin coating around the nerve fibers in the central nervous system (CNS) and to the nerve fibers themselves interferes with the transmission of nerve signals between the brain, spinal cord and the rest of the body. Disrupted nerve signals cause the symptoms of MS, which vary from one person to another and over time for any given individual, depending on where the damage occurs.
The diagnosis of MS requires evidence of at least two areas of damage in the CNS, which have occurred at different times.
