This homeowner had sustained water damage in the first floor of their home. The carpets in the bedrooms were soaked. It turned out, this was not the first time these carpets had soaked up a fair amount of water.

The carpet, itself, gave off a musty odor indicating the presence of mold spores. Because the homeowner had tried to dry the carpet on their own the previous time, all of the water was not extracted and the carpet pad was left soaking underneath the carpet. This left a perfect environment for mold to grow.
